UAE National Day

On December 2nd the United Arab Emirates celebrated its 37th anniversary as a modern state.
Throughout the country people waved proudly waved UAE flags; decorated cars and school children wearing the colors of the country paraded in towns and cities. Portraits of the present and past rulers of the seven Emirates were on display everywhere from street corner to football scarves.

The growth and development of UAE has been tremendous. To get an idea of where the UAE was around the time of its founding, watch this 50 minute documentary about Sheikh Zayed. Filmed in 1967 it shows how life was not too long and describes several of the universal issues and challenges that the current rulers of the UAE and the Gulf States face.
